Mali x GSD castrated male approx 3 years old.
Rio has come into CGSR from another rehoming centre.
A typical Mali x, high energy, can be vocal, pushes boundaries, very standoffish with people he doesn’t know. He needs a strong confident owner that will continue his socialisation and training.
On lead Rio is very dog reactive, especially to dogs he has not seen before. He is walked on a gencon head collar as he has the tendency to launch - Mali style.
With the correct introduction he has been able to interact with Sky our husky, off lead in a secure area.
He travels well in a crate but is a bit excitable when secured by car harness. Rio has no issues walking through a busy town centre and his only reaction has been to other dogs. He can be very affectionate and responsive when he gets to know you.
Experienced Mali owners
No small furries/feathers of any description - his prey drive is huge
No resident male dog - he could possibly live with a large breed female
No children under teenage - he was a stray so history unknown
